Directv actually had a coverage team at the World Championships, we ended up talking with their film crew quite a bit. They should be putting out a six part miniseries on the event sometime after launch. You can speculate on the long term effects of it but it was pretty cool to see gaming getting a bit of positive press in the mainstream.

Peace,

A serious guild would be one thats been around solid for at least 6 months, hasn't changed name or roster really. There's not as many as you think, and the only way divisions will work is if guilds stick together for years on end, not just for one season.

But how many of those guilds have been together for over 6 months? I may have lowballed the 25 bit but I'm pretty sure you get my point. Divisions wont work unless there's a large number of guilds who will stick together long enough to work their way up. And with one tour every 6 months (or so it looks) the one-month-wonder guilds just wont cut it.

I don't think divisions are the answer at this time, maybe in the future. Instead, having prizes for guilds all over the ladder might work better untill there are more guilds to go around. There've been talks where something like the top 100 get A prize, the 101-250 range get B prize. And of course the top 16 wills till get a chance at the tour prize, and the trim capes.

Yeah and if Europeans didn't have ridiculous lag, it would have been EW vs emt in finals.

Well, if somebody wants to make a suggestion for Divisions, put it in Sardelac. This thread has been taken totally off-track now, so I'm going to close it.
